Project Plan Usually there is an initial meeting to discuss the client’s needs. The CD interface team will try to gather all the information we can about the goals the clients have for the CD and its intended audience so an effective structure can be developed. CD content and structure initially takes the form of an outline, which for larger projects may be formalized into information architecture. Once content has been determined, the CD interface team designs an interface and begins the background programming to make it work. This interface will be presented as a series of “thumbnail sketches” that show the CD screens at each level of interaction and give a better visual idea of how the final CD will look. As we receive content from the client (text, images, etc.), we integrate it with the interface. Basic testing is done continually as content is added. Once the CD has had all content added and is considered “finished,” it is sent to the Testing department for testing on a variety of computers to make certain that the CD functions smoothly with a broad range of operating systems and hardware configurations. If problems arise, the source of the difficulty is determined and any required changes to the CD code are made. Testing with target audience if applicable. Technical testing. Refinement based on client feedback and testing will also be done. Having passed its testing, the CD is burned onto a “Master CD” or “Master” which will be the source from which all other CDs are duplicated.
